Ertuğrulgazi Mesken Sports Club was founded in 1971 by the neighborhood youth and children interested in soccer. The club was closed down for political reasons in 1982, following the military coup in 1980. The players and members of the club were taken into custody and tortured. The people who lived in those times tell us how the coup has affected both the neighborhood and the team.
