The elderly couple, married for 57 years, arrived in Istanbul (Turkey) for an operation and a quick visit with their son. Before they got a chance to return to their hometown, Covid-19 outbreak was announced. While still in the shock of the outbreak news, curfew for 3 months was imposed for those who were 65 and older. The couple was stuck in Istanbul with their son, turning into a claustrophobic nightmare lock down in an 80 square meter house. Concern and uncertainty were increasingly affecting their mental health, punctuated by their daily quarrels and documented relentlessly by their son.
Directors ZAFER SEVENER and SİBEL SÜMER
Zafer Sevener was born in 1969. He completed his primary education in Kars, Edirne, and Cyprus, and high school in Adana. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture in 1991. He joined Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) in 1992 and started working as a camera assistant. He became a cameraman in 1995. Same year he became a member of Turkish Journalists Association (Türkiye Gazeteciler Cemiyeti). Between 1995-2002 he worked as director of photography and as director for many TV series and documentaries. The documentary, "Masumiyet Müzesi - Orhan Pamuk" in which he worked as director of photography received Sedat Simavi Best Documentary Award. He was the producer and director of photography of "Sofra Sofra Istanbul" documentary in 2016, which received a total of 14 awards in international festivals. Sevener continues to work as director and director of photography in television, documentaries, cinema, and commercials.
Sibel Sümer was born in Ankara in 1969. She graduated from Ankara University Department of Radio-Television in 1990 and immediately she started working in TRT Ankara Television as a director's assistant for documentaries. In 1992 she became a video editor and producer in 1998. Between 1998-2018 she made many documentaries, musical-entertainment, and arts and culture programs at TRT as producer-director. She currently works as a freelance writer and director.
